Stage by stage together
On your way to getting your Bachelor of Arts degree, you will collect practical professional experience with us – and in multiple companies, different training stations and at different locations within the Group. The dual study course means the study and practical phases alternate around every three months. You will complete the theoretical phases at the HWR Berlin and the practical stages at Deutsche Wohnen. As a result, you will learn practical content that will guarantee you the best job opportunities later on.
Theory and practice
We work with the HWR Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht in Berlin (Berlin School of Economics and Law) to teach theoretical knowledge.

The course comprises the following special subject modules:
- Basic areas such as business administration, national economy, accounting and law
- Events on national and international accounting and group accounting – also from an auditor’s point of view
- Focus on turnover, income, corporation, trade and inheritance tax law as well as the general tax code
- Elective subjects such as management consulting, HR, financial literacy and many more

During the practical training, you can expect demanding tasks and diverse challenges. You will be able to directly apply and expand on the knowledge you have acquired in your studies.
The teaching content in the Accounting/Consolidation department consists of: preparing document postings and executing postings according to the chart of accounts and posting programmes, creating monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for specific business areas, processing account statements, digital invoice workflow, fixed asset accounting and VAT returns.
The tax department handles all income tax matters for the affiliated companies. You will gain an insight into the preparation of tax returns, the correspondence with the tax office, the review of tax assessments and the monitoring of tax audits.
Everything that’s right: You will gain an insight into the variety of legal topics in our Group and their solution-oriented treatment, from A for share purchase agreements to Z for misappropriation. Discover and develop your sensitivity to legal issues, understanding of the legal structure of our Group and our diverse areas of practice, such as civil, corporate, capital market and financing law, litigation, negotiation, transaction support/merger & acquisition and compliance.
It’s good to know everything’s going according to plan: You will be involved in the necessity to constantly monitor the profitability of operational services. You will learn a lot about target/actual comparisons, budgets and commercial management and control tasks. Here, it is particularly important to evaluate and summarise statistics and reports for the preparation of decisions.
You will learn how to communicate with banks in the context of opening and closing accounts, granting bank mandates, checking payments and account statements and liquidity planning. We will also teach you about the structure of corporate and property finance, including collateral and interest rate hedge transactions.
Here, you will have regular contact with customers and take care that everything runs according to plan, defects have been remedied and apartment viewings run smoothly.
There’s a lot to discover: Take a look over your colleagues’ shoulders and learn how to calculate rent developments and control modernisation and repair measures. Customer satisfaction is key in this field, you and the team will ensure that everything runs smoothly.
We will show you how communication with third-party administrations and service providers works in close cooperation with the service points. You will learn all about controlling the infrastructure and technical service companies and safeguarding the processes in the SAP system. This includes SAP integration of acquisition portfolios and maintaining quality management systems.
For the dual study course in Business Administration/Taxes And Auditing (B. A.), starting 1 October 2020 until 15 March 2020 – only via our online application tool. As a prerequisite for a dual study programme, you should already have or be aiming for the General Higher Education Entrance Qualification (allgemeine Hochschulreife), the Subject-Related Higher Education Entrance Qualification (fachgebundene Hochschulreife) or the University of Applied Sciences Entrance Qualification (Fachhochschulreife).
