In the thick of it from the start. Our culture of welcome

Starting at a new company. Everything is new. It’s nice to feel welcome – happily, well prepared. We feel its important to give our new colleagues a thorough induction. Our Berlin headquarters regularly holds Welcome Days. You will get to know Deutsche Wohnen as a company and meet other new colleagues. You will also be given a brief tour of some of the properties we have in the capital.

This is what our new colleagues say:

“Really informative and really important. You meet a lot of new people and it’s another example of the welcoming company culture.” (December 2019; anonymous)

“As a new employee, you feel very well taken care of, and once again, you notice how friendly and helpful everyone is here.” (December 2019; anonymous)

“Very well-organized day event. Perfect time management and a varied programme with plenty of opportunities to meet people and network.” (September 2019; anonymous)

Celebrate together. Our summer party

Once a year, all colleagues meet in Berlin for the summer party. It takes place at a special location with a party, live music, good food and always promises to be lots of fun. In 2018, we celebrated in a great party mood at the Motorwerk Berlin, a former industrial hall in Weißensee, and 2018 in the tepee at the Chancellor’s Office located in the heart of Berlin’s Tiergarten.

Active & fit. Our sports events

Looking for a balance to everyday office life? We cordially invite you to take part in our sporting events. Every year, our running teams take part in the Berlin Team Relay – a true event highlight for both runners and fans. However, we also support participation in local company races at the other locations. Cycling enthusiasts can take part in the GARMIN VELOTHON BERLIN, which offers something for beginners as well as advanced cyclists. And, of course, there is also a football team: our team trains in Berlin and takes part in local tournaments.

Room for new acquaintances. Mystery Meeting in Berlin

I don’t know them at all … because we have grown so rapidly, it’s not possible to know everybody personally anymore. That’s why we’ve launched the Mystery Meeting so that people can get to know one another better. Everyone from the Management Board to trainees takes part. Everyone gets assigned a partner – and then you simply meet each other for a coffee. There are no rules, except: the meeting lasts about 45 minutes and takes place within two weeks. Feedback is positive without exception.
