    Eyewitness discussion in Dresden

    For 40 years, something lay hidden under the office building that was originally built for VEB Energiebau Dresden. A time capsule that, in accordance with good construction traditions, was buried during the laying of the foundation stone in 1979. Today Deutsche Wohnen is building a new neighbourhood for Saxony’s growing capital in this very same spot. A discussion with eyewitnesses from that era at the Dresden Volkshaus brought back memories of how the site was formerly used.

    ‘A built promise’: Deutsche Wohnen presents a documentary on the UNESCO World Heritage sites

    In 2008, six housing estates of Berlin Modernism (Siedlungen der Berliner Moderne) were listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Four of these estates are part of Deutsche Wohnen’s portfolio. In 2018, to mark the tenth anniversary of this occasion, the property company commissioned a documentary film on the heritage of these extraordinary developments.
