Shadowing in a nursing home: board member Henrik Thomsen visits PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HORN
As Chief Development Officer, Henrik Thomsen’s responsibilities include project development in the field of Nursing and Assisted Living. At Deutsche Wohnen subsidiary PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG’s HORN location, he gets a glimpse of everyday life in a nursing home.
In light of rising demand for beds, particularly in German cities and conurbations, Deutsche Wohnen is planning to expand its nursing segment further. When developing this aspect of the business, it was important to Henrik Thomsen to get an idea of what matters in nursing properties. That’s why he spent three days shadowing employees at the HORN location and getting to know the challenges of their day-to-day. What he learned in this time will also influence the way this sector develops.
With the slogan “CARE FOR THE FUTURE INITIATIVE”, EUR 120 million will be invested in PFLEGEN & WOHNEN HAMBURG locations in the years to come. Thanks to new construction and modernisation, beds in line with the latest standards will be on offer – and modern neighbourhood concepts and additional solutions like service living are also taking shape. Digital infrastructure will also be dramatically expanded as a result.
