    Deutsche Wohnen continues to support the "certificate for independent living" for refugees

    Since November, seven young refugees have been attending a course for the "certificate for independent living", which is run by the Stadtteilzentrum Steglitz, a large community centre in Berlin. Deutsche Wohnen supports this programme by carrying out application interviews for flats with the trainees. This is the second time that the company has given its support to this successful idea.

    Deutsche Wohnen presents the results of its tenants’ survey

    From the middle of August to the end of September 2017, the Deutsche Wohnen Group conducted a wide-ranging tenants’ survey, the results of which are now available. All of Deutsche Wohnen’s private, residential tenants in the whole of Germany were surveyed. Almost 20%, i.e. 29,000 tenants , took part in this first ever tenants’ survey carried out by the company.

    Einladung zum GEHAG Forum

    Nach einer längeren Pause, die durch Umbauten und Renovierungsmaßnahmen entstanden ist, freuen wir uns, endlich wieder zu einer neuen Ausstellung des GEHAG-Forums einladen zu können. Die drei beteiligten Künstlerinnen und Künstler, Harriet Groß, Maja Rohwetter und Hansjörg Schneider befassen sich alle auf unterschiedliche Weise mit Räumen und nutzen dafür Zeichnung, Malerei und auch Cut outs. Die letzte Technik, in Papier und Metall ausgeführt, erweitert die „Zeichnung“ in die dritte Dimension und generiert Werke, die als bildhauerische Arbeiten bezeichnet werden können.

    The first nine months of the financial year 2017 were very successful for Deutsche Wohnen. The company was able to increase its profit by EUR 43.4 million to EUR 706.0 million (9m 2016: EUR 662.6 million), influenced basically by the improved operating result (EBITDA) and the valuation uplift of the portfolio by just under EUR 900 million as at the end of the first half-year 2017.

    Deutsche Wohnen and Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, decide on further steps to modernise properties in the redevelopment area of Sahlkamp-Mitte

    Deutsche Wohnen and Hanover, the capital of Lower Saxony, have agreed to push ahead with the refurbishment of the Sahlkamp district and to implement the next phase of construction. To achieve this, a joint modernisation agreement is being drawn up, on the basis of which the refurbishment work that is currently underway can be extended in a way that is economically feasible to the buildings at 75-81, General-Weaver-Straße and 1-3, Rhönweg. The aim is to conclude a joint agreement this year and to start work in 2018. In addition, further measures to develop the neighbourhood have been agreed.

    Significant value enhancement at Deutsche Wohnen

    Deutsche Wohnen concluded the first half of 2017 having recorded a consolidated Group profit of EUR 672.0 million (H1 2016: EUR 647.2 million). Its higher operating result (EBITDA) and the revaluation of its portfolio resulting in an uplift of just under EUR 900 million were material contributors towards the improvement in its result as compared to the previous year. FFO I (Funds from Operations, operating result after current interest and taxes) increased by 11%, in comparison to the previous year, to EUR 220.8 million (H1 2016: EUR 198.7 million). FFO I per share (undiluted) rose by just under 7% to EUR 0.63. EPRA NAV (undiluted) increased by 6% to EUR 31.42 per share (31 December 2016: EUR 29.68 per share). The Loan-to-Value ratio (LTV) of the company fell slightly to 36.9% (31 December 2016: 37.7%), and is thus within the targeted range of between 35% and 40%.

    Deutsche Wohnen installs KIWI in its holdings

    Deutsche Wohnen and the provider of the keyless entry system KIWI will be working together in future and, to this end, signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on 13 June 2017. Deutsche Wohnen will install the KIWI entry system in all of its holdings, which comprise around 17,000 buildings with approximately 160,000 residential and commercial units. In addition, it is acquiring a minority shareholding in the property technology company.
