- Deutsche Wohnen will be installing the KIWI keyless entry system step by step in all of its holdings in Germany
- The project will start in the 3rd quarter of 2017
- Deutsche Wohnen also acquires a minority shareholding in the up-and-coming property technology company KIWI
The project is set to start in the 3rd quarter of this year, with the system being installed initially in some of the Berlin holdings. With the help of this project, Deutsche Wohnen wishes to improve both the efficiency of its property management and the level of convenience enjoyed by its tenants. The company is also strengthening its role as a leader in its sector and taking a further step towards digitalisation.
As Michael Zahn, CEO of Deutsche Wohnen AG, explains, “We would like to make even greater use of the technical benefits of digitalisation in future and are very pleased to be taking a further step towards the digital age through this new partnership with KIWI. Indeed, the advantages of keyless entry make clear the opportunities being created by the process of digitalisation in the property sector. The fact that it is easy to use means a high level of convenience for our service providers and customers and makes day-to-day life easier.”
In addition to installing the system in Deutsche Wohnen’s entire holdings, KIWI will benefit above all from the company’s experience and know-how in the property sector. As Karsten Nölling, CEO of KIWI, explains, “We are delighted to be cooperating with Deutsche Wohnen. The company is the ideal partner for us. This cooperation will help to carry KIWI forward and to meet the demands of the property industry even more effectively. The fact that our system is being installed in all of Deutsche Wohnen’s holdings is not only a clear indication of this housing company’s innovative capacity. It also shows that this sector is on the move and that property technology has now arrived in the housing industry.” Up to now, the Berlin housing associations degewo and Gesobau have been using KIWI in their holdings.
Deutsche Wohnen is one of the leading publicly listed property companies in Germany and Europe with a business focus on managing and developing its portfolio, which consists mainly of residential properties. More than 55,000 residential units are connected to the KIWI infrastructure, and its customers include more than 400 residential property companies. KIWI is a service provided by KIWI.KI GmbH. The company is based in Berlin and was founded in February 2012. It is headed by Karsten Nölling, the CEO, and Claudia Nagel (D.Eng.). For further information, please visit www.kiwi.ki.
