More than a home

Your own home has a major impact on your well-being, as does the area or neighbourhood in which it is located. The architects who designed the six Estates of Berlin Modernism – UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 2008 – knew this, too. Living today and tomorrow

Our 1920s and 1930s UNESCO World Heritage estates also serve as useful examples of architecture and urban planning centred on residents’ needs today. Their bright, spacious rooms, balconies and bathrooms, gardens and green space were all revolutionary in their day. Today, we are working intensively and practically with future-forward concepts like “smart homes” and “home sharing” – as we firmly believe that they will help to shape the quality of life in urban neighbourhoods in the near and distant future.
