The history of this neighbourhood is still told today in the people who live there. Many of the railway estate’s occupants are still railway workers and have lived there their whole lives. They have been joined by many young families and couples. The heart of the complex is a large green space with lots of trees in the middle. The neighbouring allotments add to the green appeal. Yet the people who live here are well connected, too. The motorway can be easily reached – as can public transport.
Old and new in perfect harmony
The historic settlement with its 90 apartments was expanded in recent years with new developments. As part of the scheme, new multistorey residential properties containing 91 rental apartments were built by mid-2016 along with twelve terraced houses. Most of the altogether 103 new apartments have three to four rooms and a space of 70 to 90 square metres. Approximately 9,000 square metres of additional living space was created in total. The new buildings are equipped with lifts and some of the apartments are accessible.

Apartments to suit all kinds of living situations
All apartments have balconies, underfloor heating, parquet flooring and modern bathrooms. In designing the apartments’ layouts, care was taken to ensure rooms were of similar sizes as much as possible, so that they can be used according to residents’ preferences. This flexibility allows the apartments to be adapted to different ways and stages of life.
