The development

This development is Berlin’s first ‘smoke-free estate’, as heating is supplied from a district heating plant. The development was built in a four-storey structure between 1930 and 1934. As a very successful example of the Neue Sachlichkeit architectural style of the 20th century, the entire development is now listed.

The neighbourhood

The estate is in the popular area of Steglitz. The centre of the district is just ten minutes away by bus. Here, at the S-Bahn and U-Bahn railway station Rathaus Steglitz, you will find another Berlin shopping hub: the well-known and well-loved Schlossstrasse. The variety of supermarkets and shops on Steglitzer Damm will cater to your day-to-day needs.
