Many customers have been there: they’d like to install a new fitted kitchen or lay laminate flooring. These and other construction activities constitute “structural changes” in a rental property. They must be approved by the landlord. In many cases, the preferred changes can be made easily if the original condition can be restored without any special effort. Please do not hesitate to contact us to apply for proposed refurbishment works.
The rental contract specifically governs which pets are permitted in the home. Usually these are small animals such as fish or birds. If you would like to keep a pet such as a dog or cat in your home, you must apply in advance in writing. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. To apply, please get in touch via the usual channels. In some buildings there is also a general ban on dogs.
Animal welfare really matters to us. Always check that the size of the home is suitable for keeping a dog or cat. Keeping attack dogs is generally not permitted in our apartments.
Exotic animals such as big cats, snakes and spiders are not deemed to be household pets. They cannot be kept as pets in Deutsche Wohnen’s rental properties.
One or more tenants wish to leave your tenancy, but you wish to continue the tenancy with the remaining tenants on the contract? We’re happy to review your request.
Please send us an application for partial termination by post. An important note: all current tenants must sign it so we can legally ensure that the interests of all tenants are safeguarded. Unfortunately, an email or fax is not suitable in this instance. Once we have reviewed your request, we’ll be happy to get back to you.
