  • Henrik Thomsen will leave the Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen SE at the end of 2021
  • QUARTERBACK Immobilien AG is responsible for Deutsche Wohnen's project development business as a strategic partner
  • Deutsche Wohnen focuses on new construction as an important contribution to easing the housing market and achieving a climate-neutral portfolio

Henrik Thomsen will join the Management Board of QUARTERBACK Immobilien AG, in which Deutsche Wohnen SE has bundled its new construction activities, on January 1, 2022. As a result, he will leave the Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen at the end of this year.

Henrik Thomsen was appointed to the Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen in 2019 and, as Chief Development Officer, was responsible for new construction and portfolio investments, technical infrastructure, and digitalization.

The Supervisory Board and Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen would like to thank Henrik Thomsen for his successful work and high level of commitment on the Management Board of Deutsche Wohnen. They welcome the fact that as a member of the Management Board of QUARTERBACK, he will remain associated with the company.

Michael Zahn, CEO of Deutsche Wohnen: “As Chief Development Officer, Henrik Thomsen has made strategically important contributions to the further development of Deutsche Wohnen. We would like to thank him very much for this. We are pleased that at QUARTERBACK, he can excellently build on what he has achieved and will continue to drive forward new construction activities for our company.”

Henrik Thomsen: “I am delighted to focus on expanding project development at QUARTERBACK and thus to support Deutsche Wohnen’s new construction activities.”

As part of Deutsche Wohnen's minority stake in QUARTERBACK, the Leipzig-based project developer acts as Deutsche Wohnen's strategic partner for the entire operational project development business. Deutsche Wohnen has set itself the goal of contributing to easing the housing market in Germany's growth regions. Against this backdrop, the company this year pooled its new construction competencies in an independent platform led by QUARTERBACK.

The company serves all major locations in Germany from Berlin, Dresden, Hamburg and Cologne to Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Munich. Since all of Deutsche Wohnen's new construction projects are certified with high sustainability standards, the commitment to new construction is an important component of the climate strategy with which the company is aiming for climate neutrality by 2040.
