For more culture in Krampnitz: Deutsche Wohnen supports Collegium musicum
Deutsche Wohnen has donated EUR 10,000 to the Collegium musicum Potsdam. On Sunday, this symphony orchestra performed two open-air concerts in the former barracks complex in Krampnitz.
Michael Zahn, CEO of Deutsche Wohnen SE: “It is important to us at Deutsche Wohnen to give especial support in times like these to artists who have suffered particular hardship due to the corona pandemic and the cancellation of events and concerts. Against this historic backdrop in Krampnitz, we have had the opportunity to enjoy wonderful music. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the musicians for this.”
In addition to this donation, Deutsche Wohnen has previously given its support – in collaboration with the project developer Pro Potsdam – to the open-air concerts of the Collegium musicum and the saxophone quartet “Meier’s Clan”. In 2019, two sell-out concerts were held in a similar format on the Open Monument Weekend in the former officers’ mess building in Krampnitz. In 2019, as today, Deutsche Wohnen was able, by lending its support, to help culture to come alive in Krampnitz and to open this future city neighbourhood to visitors.
As long ago as the 1980s, the Collegium musicum performed regularly in the officers’ mess in Krampnitz. At that time, they played for Soviet officers who were stationed in Potsdam.
Together with Brandenburg’s state capital Potsdam and the project developer Pro Potsdam, Deutsche Wohnen is building approximately 1,800 flats in the coming years on this former barracks site. The sustainable neighbourhood will be part of a new city district in which around 10,000 people will live and work in future. In the design and development of the site, the emphasis has been on finding innovative solutions from the areas of urban planning, mobility and energy supply. The first residents in the neighbourhood will probably be moving into refurbished buildings belonging to Deutsche Wohnen in 2024.
